Our Work

At the heart of our work is the slowing down and learning new skills in a supportive environment.

We are aware that taking the time to engage in activities that involve manual skills using our hands and concentrating can bring a sense of fulfilment and connection to the present moment. One of the most powerful ways in we use our hands is as instruments of expression and creativity. Be that Weaving, Wood Carving to Stitching and Wood Block Printing or any other craft skill, our hands allow us to translate our thoughts and emotions into a tangible item.

By concentrating and being in the moment in the act of creating or working with our hands we can reduce stress and promote relaxation. The objects we create from these activities can give us a sense of pride, achievement and positive wellbeing. When crafting is combined with social interaction, its positive effects are magnified as the activities fosters meaningful connections, encourages the exchange of ideas, and provides emotional support. The relationships formed through shared crafting experiences can lead to lasting friendships and a deeper sense of belonging to their local communities.

Our hands are incredible tools that shape not only our individual experiences but also our collective world. They allow us to create, learn, connect, and maintain our physical and mental well-being. In a rapidly advancing digital age, it’s crucial to remember the profound importance of crafting and using our hands.

Sometimes you choose the creative outlet on what skills you can do.

Sometimes the art form chooses you and you become absorbed and engrossed in the skills.

Sometimes we just need to have a go and new paths open
